I think the snail idea is really fun--he has his home already packed up on his back! :) Nice idea and I like the colours.
I really like the incorporation of the snails' shadow.

In illustration, simplicity is often more difficult to achieve than something more complex. The simplicity of concept and execution here is lovely.
