Since I was absent last week...

Here the three concepts I forgot to post for The Mansion, a really horribly written article about middle Americans' eyes being bigger than their wallets. I like the first and last one equally. Not the middle one.
In case nobody can tell, the guy on the bottom is trying to step over lava. I'm considering squeezing all the houses a little closer together so I can have the guy bending further backwards, as if he's falling more into the lava than reaching an even-more unreachable mansion.

(The #2 type isn't even anything and the #3 type will look hella better...)

Thanks for posting Michael-

I'd go with the first one too. While the article is generally about this, it does chronicle one person throughout, experiencing (albeit somewhat staged and dramatically) the pitfalls of owning something bigger than you can afford, showing some reasons why folks blindly step into this problem only to discover "the fine print" later.

That said, as a general concept the first one works, depicting what americans are doing this days, burying themselves in debt with their houses on their brains.

I would love to see the envelope with the type on it more dramatically coming into frame with some movement, like it is flying in front, and enlarge it even more to make it more dynamic. I'd consider going for computer type too, but mostly because such a busy piece may need control in the text to contrast and bring out the title. Color palette (a limited one) will help here in the IOU's, ( careful not to make it too busy with outlines) so color studies are greatly encouraged. Maybe come on Wednesday with a color study or two? This can be digital or a quick manual stab at it on a xerox.

Thanks Michael.

The text on those are just BS letters for placement purposes. They're not even anything. Even so, since the text on the first one will be a bill, typed text would still probably be better...

Thanks!
